Aguero Arrives In Manchester To Seal City Switch
Argentinean international Sergio Aguero has arrived in Manchester today to complete his high-profile transfer to Manchester City after a fee was agreed with his former employers, Atletico Madrid.
Transfer gossip suggests that the 23-year-old forward has agreed terms on a five-year deal with the club, with City paying £38 million to capture the signature of one of South America’s hottest young talents.
Speaking on his personal Twitter account, the striker revealed: “Just arrived in Manchester to finalise the details of a deal with City. Everything is going well.”
The move could potentially mean that want-away striker Carlos Tevez will be a partner, rather than a frontrunner, to Aguero in the City attack next season, with the two Argentineans providing a formidable goal threat.
Tevez had wanted to move back to South America to join Brazilian club Corinthians – a revelation that prompted City to move for Aguero in the first place – but the move broke down after the clubs failed to agree on the terms of the deal.
As such, City could find themselves in a position when they have two £40 million plus rated strikers in their starting line-up next season, along with Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko in a frontline that will take some rotating if all are to be kept happy.
